Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about Maria's Memorials

What is a digital memorial?
A digital memorial is an online space dedicated to honoring the memory of your loved one. It includes photos, videos, biography, niche location map, music, condolences, and a QR code so family and friends can access from anywhere.
How does the QR code work?
The QR code links directly to the digital memorial. Scanning it with any phone automatically opens the memorial page. You can place it on the headstone, in a frame at home, or wherever you prefer. All plans include a downloadable digital QR; the Standard Plan also receives a laminated physical QR by courier.
Can I cancel my subscription?
Yes, you can cancel at any time from your dashboard. Your memorial will remain publicly visible until the end of the paid period. After that, the memorial stops being visible to visitors but all your data (photos, videos, condolences) is kept in your account — you can reactivate the subscription anytime to make it public again. No penalties or hidden charges.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners) through Izipay, a PCI-DSS certified secure payment gateway. Card details are entered directly into Izipay's secure form and are never stored or seen by our servers — that's exactly what the PCI-DSS certification guarantees. We only receive the confirmation that the payment was approved.
How long does the physical QR take to arrive?
The laminated physical QR (included in the Standard Plan) is shipped by courier to Lima Metropolitan area in 3-5 business days. For now, we only ship within Lima.
How many photos and videos can I upload?
It depends on the plan: Free allows 10 photos and 2 videos; Basic allows 30 photos and 10 videos; Standard allows 50 photos and 20 videos. Photos are auto-optimized; videos keep their original quality. You can edit and add content anytime from your dashboard.
Who can see the memorial?
By default the memorial is public: anyone with the link or QR code can visit it, and it appears in search engines like Google. If your plan is Standard, you can enable Private Memorial mode: the memorial remains accessible from the same URL and same QR, but before showing the content a screen asks for a 6-digit access code. Only people you share the code with can enter. Private memorials also do not appear on Google or any other search engine. You can enable or disable this mode anytime from the dashboard, and regenerate the code if you suspect it leaked. Condolences left by visitors are only shown after you approve them.
What's the difference between the plans?
The Free Plan lets you start at no cost: 10 photos, 2 videos, full biography, location map, digital QR, condolences, and basic notifications (100 MB). The Basic Plan (S/.10/mo) expands to 30 photos, 10 videos, adds personalized notifications, music referenced from Spotify and YouTube (3 songs), and 800 MB. The Standard Plan (S/.20/mo) goes up to 50 photos, 20 videos, adds 2 own MP3 files + 5 external references, laminated physical QR by courier, 2 GB of storage, and the option of Private Memorial with access code (optional — you can leave it public or enable it anytime).
What do the notifications include?
There are two types. Basic notifications (included in all plans) remind you of general dates: All Saints' Day, Day of the Dead, Mother's Day, and Father's Day — so you don't forget to honor your loved one on these meaningful dates. Personalized notifications (Basic and Standard plans) add memorial-specific reminders: death anniversary, one week before, first month and six months milestones, your loved one's birthday, and one week before the birthday. You receive them by email and WhatsApp.
How does the memorial music work?
The memorial can have music to accompany visits in two ways. Spotify and YouTube tracks (Basic plan allows 3, Standard plan allows 5): you paste the link to an individual song from Spotify or a YouTube/YouTube Music video from your dashboard and it gets integrated to the memorial with each platform's official player. Own MP3 files (Standard plan allows 2): you upload your own audio — useful if the song you want isn't available on streaming. Visitors see all tracks in a 'Music' tab and play whichever they prefer.
